Bank holiday baggage strike chaos for Stansted

More misery for travellers is looming as union chiefs ordered strikes at Stansted over the bank holiday weekend. Ryanair and Easyjet will be worst hit along with charter airlines. The strikes involve GMB union check-in staff and baggage handlers from 5am on Saturday 26th August until 8am on Sunday 27th August and from 5am on Monday 28th August until 8am on Tuesday 29th August. The train drivers union ASLEF have also ordered six 24 hour strikes on the Gatwick Express between Victoria and the airport. The first of these will be on Friday 25th August and the second on Tuesday 29th August.
