bmi announces record expansion

British airline bmi has put 17 new routes from Heathrow airport on sale in the largest-ever expansion of its route network.
The carrier is the second-largest operator out of Heathrow and will now fly to new destinations including Baku, Tehran, Beirut, Amman, Almaty and Yerevan.
All of the new services will begin on October 28th and operate from the London hub's terminal one.
To coincide with the launch of the new routes, bmi also announced improvements to its in-flight product, with an enhanced food and drink service, new amenity kits and kids' packs and entertainment offering up to 22 films.
