British Airways has announced that it is set to launch a new route to Paphos in Cyprus from Gatwick Airport this summer.
The flights will begin on July 1st and will run on a daily basis, adding to the airline’s current services between Heathrow Airport and Larnaca.
Paphos is a scenic harbour town that was the capital of Cyprus for over 700 years under the Romans and features spectacular beaches and numerous historical attractions.
Marianna Trokoudes, Cyprus commercial manager for British Airways, commented: “Paphos is … very popular with UK travellers and the growing economic importance of the town and region are just a few of the reasons why we feel this service will be very well received in Cyprus and in the UK.”
Meanwhile, holidaymakers travelling to Cyprus this year could find it easier to deal with currency after the country, along with Malta, officially adopted the euro at the start of this month.
