Possible re-branding for Cardiff international Airport

Tom Jones, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Dame Shirley Bassey are believed to be some the names on the shortlist for the possible re-branding of Cardiff International Airport. Following in the same footsteps of the successful Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Cardiff is hoping to boost it's profile with a celebrity name.

Observers are already questioning the value of the project and asking would Cardiff Catherine Zeta-Jones Airport really roll off the tongue as easily and command the same level of respect as Liverpool?

Jason Gill of advertising agency Peter Gill Associates told The Telegraph: "When you look at Liverpool John Lennon Airport … it's worked so well because he was known throughout the world and there was a lot of affection for him with the Beatles."An airport spokesperson has defended the proposal saying it's just "part off" a wider re-branding and Julian Burrell of the Wales Tourism Alliance stated that they're " interested in marketing for people coming here, rather than going out"

There has been no official news on the airport's website or press releases stating the change as yet.
