BA to launch new Genoa - Gatwick flights

British Airways will be introducing a new daily service between Gatwick and Genoa on April 4 2008. A spokesman said that it is launching the route in response to increasing passenger demand in the region, driven by the success of the Mediterranean cruise industry which has resulted in an increase in ships based in the Genoa area.

BA will use its Boeing 737 aircraft for the route and offer both Club Europe and Euro Traveller service. The route will operate throughout the year, with the airline planning to offer four flights per week during the winter months.

London Heathrow Pink Elephant Parking at terminals 1, 2 and 3 is now called Business Parking. Terminal 4 parking is now known as Business Parking and also as Park 'n Ride.

Pink Elephant / Business Parking is popular: car parks are a mix of business and long-stay car parking. The car parks are managed by a company called Meteor which is the third largest operator of off-street parking in the UK, managing around 77,000 parking spaces across 30 sites. The largest part of the company's business is airport parking.

The car parks are secured by high security fencing, CCTV cameras, flood lighting and regular patrols by staff. Free transfers to terminals operate 24 hours a day, making your parking experience as stress-free as possible.

Twilight check-in at Gatwick

This rather romantic terminology means that you Check in for your flight the day before it leaves. This works well if you live near the airport or are staying in an airport hotel.

At London Gatwick airport a Twilight, or Day Before, airport check-in programme is being trialed. Passengers flying with Thomson, Excel Airways, MyTravel and Thomas Cook Airlines can check in at a dedicated desk from 4pm to 10pm the night before they fly. The next morning they avoid the queues and go straight to security. If you are off on holiday and flying with one of these airlines earlier than midday, take the opportunity to check in your bags, have your seats assigned and collect boarding cards the evening before. The ideal opportunity to relax in an airport hotel the night before your flight and enjoy breakfast!!

The Twilight Service Check-in at Gatwick opens in Zone E of the South Terminal from 16:00-22:00hrs the evening before departure. If you are collecting your tickets at the airport you won't be able to use this service.

Airlines at Gatwick offering Twilight check-in are BA, First Choice, Easyjet, Excel, My Travel, Thomas Cook, Thomsonfly and Virgin Atlantic.
