FastJet – The new low cost airline
| September 26, 2011 | Posted by admin under Airline News |
Today it has been announced that Easyjet founder Stelios Haji- Ionannou has set up a new airline called Fastjet. The new company has its own website at www.fastjet.com where the bright red coulored red page simply states that www.fastjet.com by Stelios is coming soon. This will be a surprise to many within the low cost airline industry as Sir Stelios and his family own the biggest shareholders stake in EasyJet with a total of 38% sharehold of the company.
Easyjet are based at Luton Airport and currently operate over 560 routes and have over 200 aircraft operating out of England’s main airports including Gatwick, Manchester, Luton, Bristol and Stansted flying across 29 countries. It will be a challenge for Sir Stelios and Fastjet with over 50 million Easyjet passengers to win over. That’s a lot of people to convince that the futures no longer Easyjet Orange, but Fastjet Red.
